Strategic Advising for Accomplished Medtech Leaders
You’ve always been tapped on the shoulder. Now, you’re leading the way.
Recognized Success. New Uncertainty.
After years of success, recognition, and being tapped on the shoulder for opportunities, you might find yourself facing different questions than before. You’ve had a great career and are known for making a significant impact. You’re a trusted leader who has outperformed in nearly every category.
For the first time, you’re not sure where to start—what to do next, or where to turn for advice, feedback, and direction.
Who This Is For.
This is for accomplished Medtech leaders who want the next chapter of their career—the next 10 to 15 years—to be just as impactful, fulfilling, and successful as the past 20 to 25.
Typically mid-career (mid-40s to mid-50s), they’ve built strong, successful careers—but now, something feels missing. They’re not finished—they still have a lot to contribute. What comes next needs to matter, and they want to approach it with intention, not reaction.
You don’t need a “job”—you’re looking for the right opportunity. You may want:
To make a bigger impact
To find greater fulfillment
To work with people you admire and respect
You may be:
In a transition—or sensing one is coming
Exploring new opportunities or a broader role
Looking to better understand how you’re perceived—or how you see yourself
Wanting greater clarity around gaps or what might be missing
Getting approached for roles that don’t quite fit—or overlooked for the ones that do
What you want is clarity, insight, and honest feedback—from someone who understands your world, speaks your language, and sees what really happens behind the scenes.
I’ve worked with several hundred accomplished leaders through this 1:1 advising—many at pivotal points in their careers, ready for something more. Some were navigating unexpected change. Others were seeking clear feedback and affirmation—what matters most, how to communicate it, and how to increase their value in the eyes of others.

Strategic Advising Specific to You.
This isn’t generic advice—and you don’t need it.
What you might need is a trusted confidant in Medtech—someone who understands your world and offers perspective, honest feedback, and clarity through a lens shaped by real-world experience.
Someone who sees your full capabilities, understands your whole story, and helps you present yourself in the strongest possible way—with confidence, conviction, and credibility.
If you’re thinking about what’s next, unsure how to communicate your background, or wondering what might be getting in the way, it helps to talk it through with someone who sees this every day—and knows how to connect your experience to what decision-makers actually look for.
It’s not always obvious what to emphasize—on a resume or in conversation. Getting clear on this helps you move forward, especially when the path ahead isn’t as defined as it once was.

You May Be Asking Yourself…
Am I presenting myself in the way I want to be seen?
Is my experience being interpreted the way I intend?
Am I engaging in the right conversations—or just staying busy?
Our Work Together Will Help You:
Identify and communicate key accomplishments—and understand which matter most to decision-makers and why
Gain insight into what sets you apart, where your value resonates, and which gaps may be holding you back
Show CEOs, boards, and executive leaders how your background translates into value for them
Develop a strategic approach—smarter and more targeted than the mainstream—for pursuing the right opportunities in Medtech
Build the confidence to pursue roles that align with your experience and aspirations
This isn’t about reinvention. It’s about reconnecting with what drives you—and presenting your value clearly, credibly, and with purpose.
So you can:
Communicate your background and experience with greater impact
Highlight the accomplishments that carry the most weight—and why they matter
Focus on what matters most to the people you want to meet
Strengthen your presence—on paper, in conversations, and in the room
Prioritize next steps based on what you want and what’s possible
Show up with clarity, confidence, and readiness
You’ll also gain:
Honest conversation and direct, candid feedback
A clearer view of how your background is perceived—through the lens of someone who understands how leaders are evaluated
A path forward grounded in clarity, intention, and strategy
Why This is Different—and Why It Works.
This 1:1 advising is shaped by nearly 25 years of executive search experience working with CEOs, boards, and high-performing leaders across the Medtech industry. But more than experience, it’s the approach that matters—high-touch, deeply invested, thoughtful, and intentional.
I’ve never had a transactional mindset—and that difference has led to lasting results. Our executive search success has never been measured by volume, but by the impact of the people we’ve worked with—the startup companies that achieved remarkable exits, the success and fulfillment of the leaders we’ve placed, what their accomplishments made possible, where those paths have taken them since, and the long-term strength of the teams and cultures we helped build.
That same lens shapes this work with you:
- Built on how leaders are actually evaluated behind closed doors
- Informed by grounded insights from real-world boardroom dynamics
- Based on honest, specific feedback tied to your background and experience—shaped by years of high-touch executive search.
You’ll leave with renewed clarity and real-world answers to stumbling blocks you may not have fully understood. The feedback is tangible, specific, and actionable.
Your resume will be enhanced—clarifying what you may have overlooked or overstated—and your positioning will become stronger. You’ll also gain a broader understanding of how to present yourself, with insight and perspective that’s confidential, personal, and empowering.
You’ll be ready to meet the market, invest in your network, and interview with greater clarity and confidence. With a clear plan in hand, you’ll know how to pursue the right opportunities—where you can make the greatest impact, find fulfillment, and work with people you admire and respect. You’ll have the confidence to pursue those opportunities with purpose.
This Is Where I Come In — A Proven Partner in Your Corner
Since 2001, Executive Search has been my core business—building leadership teams, asking deeper questions, and helping companies make executive placements that last.
My work has never been about resumes, surface-level skills, or superficial conversations. By nature, I’m curious and driven to understand things at a deeper level. I look at the whole picture—and the whole person—not as a method, but because that’s simply how I’m wired.
That’s why surface-level recruiting doesn’t resonate with me. It’s not how I work, and it’s not the value I bring.
But in 2006, I began to see another need: accomplished leaders in transition. These weren’t individuals I was actively recruiting—they were reaching out to see if I was working on anything that might be a fit. But what I also noticed was that they were looking for advice and insight, knowing I was connected to the audience they hoped to reach.
After evaluating and placing hundreds of leaders, I realized that the conversations and decisions I was part of on the executive search side gave me a unique vantage point. I had the insight, perspective—and a personal interest—in helping experienced leaders navigate what’s often their first real career inflection point.
I see how decision-makers think, what earns their conviction, and what causes hesitation. I bring that directly to you—not as broad advice, but as clear, personal, candid feedback tied to your experience and goals.
If you’re trying to figure out what matters most, how to present your experience, or what might be missing in how you’re telling your story—what you may be overlooking that matters, or what others may value that you haven’t considered—I’ll help you see it.
This isn’t “coaching” in the abstract. It’s about helping smart, accomplished people get the answers they’re looking for—so you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and a plan grounded in a real-world lens.
You need a clear, honest perspective—someone who sees what you bring, understands how hiring decisions are made, and knows how to help you step into the right opportunity—one that fits.
Why I Offer This.
Before moving into executive search, I was inside companies. I began my career at Disney, where I held leadership roles and managed teams in a high-performance environment that brought out my best.
Years later, after marriage and relocation, I joined a company that looked great on paper—but turned out to be the wrong fit. While I was successful in the role, I knew early on that the culture and dynamics didn’t align with my values or where I saw my career going.
After a few years, I was introduced to the executive search business—and everything clicked. I realized this was where I could make a real difference. It was an opportunity to help companies and candidates avoid the kind of mismatch I had just experienced—and ask the kinds of questions that could change the outcome. That’s when I made the decision to leave—not because I failed, but because I had found something I believed in.
It was 2000. The economy was in a downturn, and few companies were hiring—but I moved forward anyway, with passion and purpose. I wasn’t focused on “success” as much as I was seeking meaning—though I later realized the two often go hand in hand. I left a high-paying job for 100% commission—and the freedom to work hard, bet on myself, and do high-quality work I would love and be good at.
But it wasn’t just that I worked in executive search—it was how I approached it that made the difference: deeper engagement, greater curiosity, and a stronger investment in both the company and the candidate. I built trusted relationships, asked better questions, and delivered better outcomes—and that work continues today.
In 2003, I founded Allen Partners Ltd. with a clear purpose: to make a difference and give both companies and candidates a better experience and outcome. I chose to focus on the Medtech industry after losing my father to heart failure. That early mismatch pointed me toward this work—but what keeps me here is the difference I’m able to make in people’s lives. That’s what motivates me.
Our executive search work centers on the needs of the company—but I’ve always believed individuals have real needs too. That’s why I began offering 1:1 strategic advising in 2006. At the time of my own career crossroads, I didn’t have the experience or perspective I offer now—but I knew what it felt like to navigate uncertainty without the right kind of support.
If I’d had access to someone who understood the industry, had real-world insight, and could help me see a few moves ahead—it would have been so helpful. I created this opportunity to give others what I didn’t have then, and what I now know makes all the difference. I know firsthand—the right opportunity is never just about the role.
It’s about people, culture, fit, and timing.

A Personal Note
Since founding Allen Partners in 2003, my husband and I have built a life grounded in faith, family, and meaningful business relationships. He was inspired by the work I was doing and the good it was creating, and chose to leave a prestigious role that consumed most of his time.
Since 2005, we’ve built the business together—trusted partners in executive search, and fully aligned in how we serve both companies and individual leaders. I lead the 1:1 strategic advising work, but everything we do is shaped by our shared values and approach.
We’ve grown the business while raising our four children. Blending work and family life—and deliberately choosing a more fulfilling path—was worth every sacrifice. We wanted to live with greater intention, be excellent parents, and true partners to our clients. We wanted to live our faith in every aspect of life, raise our children with purpose, and do work that matters.
Those same values guide my individual work today: personal attention, genuine care, and a commitment to helping others find meaning, clarity, and direction.
This is about more than just career next steps. It’s about doing work that brings out the best of who you are—your values, your experience, and your aspirations—and using that as the foundation for what comes next.
Julie , founder, with husband & managing partner, Rich, and their four children—grateful for the work, the mission, and the life they’ve built together.
